Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create a new mala?

Go to the "Malas" tab and tap the + button in the top right. Give your mala a name, optional target count, target date, icon, and color.

How do I switch which mala is active?

In the Malas tab, tap any mala to make it the active one. The Active tab will then show that mala for counting.

How do I count?

On the Active tab, tap the large button in the center to increment your count.

Can I change the app's theme?

Yes — go to Settings and choose from several preset themes, or create your own custom theme with the color picker.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings and tap "Delete Account". This will permanently remove your account and all data. This action cannot be undone.

I'm not receiving reminder notifications

Check that notifications are enabled for the app in Settings, and also check your device's Settings > Notifications > Jaap Mala to ensure permissions are granted.
